Apple is exploring the use of artificial intelligence to help design its next-generation chips, a senior technology executive confirmed, signaling a strategic shift that could accelerate innovation and improve energy efficiency across its devices.

Speaking at a recent tech industry forum, the executive—who requested anonymity due to internal policy—revealed that Apple is investing in advanced AI tools capable of automating complex semiconductor design tasks, such as circuit layout optimization and performance modeling.
